Great Historical Overview
Dr. Neidinger's informal and sometimes humorous style does not conceal the fact that he is a gifted lecturer and a polymath when it comes to his grasp of ancient religious philosophy and the march and fall of empire often associated with it. If you want a great overview of the fascinating history of this part of the world, then I would highly recommend putting out the bucks and watching all 12 of these lectures. Also, be forewarned, you may be on your way to Istanbul afterwards.
Byzantine / Ottoman History
This is part of a remarkable series by Dr. William Neidinger. It is a comprehensive lecture series that fills the gaps in our knowledge of this vital time in European history. Dr. Neidinger's contention that Ottoman history is a continuation of Byzantine history is controversial but it does not dominate his narrative of the events of the time.
